Dear Mocha

Dear Mocha,

Exactly a year ago today I wrote you a public letter just as I am now. It was the first post on the blog ever. That letter more or less outlined why I started this. I actually just re read it. It made me a bit sad. I expressed how important it is to me to be a big sister and yet for part of the year I gave up on this blog. I stopped writing to you completely. That makes me sadder than anything.

I got caught up in what people thought of me. I've heard people tell me so many good things about this blog and me writing but I hung on to the negative. I posted some good content and things I am proud of. I posted about my anxiety something I didn't think I could do. The amount of support from the most random people was amazing and literally brought my to tears. I realized my audience wasn't just you. And the negative comments seemed a little more poignant. I let it effect me. So I stopped writing when it mattered and making videos. My videos made you laugh you even told me you liked them but I never made another one.

I went through a rough patch this year when I lost my job. Instead of sharing with you what I was going through and sharing this life experience like I wanted to be able to do I just hid. I hid how I really felt I hid that I was laid off for the longest time. In the letter I wrote to you last year, I wrote how I wanted to share the ups and the downs with you but I didn't.

This year is a big year for you. You turned 18 and you're a senior. Soon you'll be graduating and taking on the world. We also have another little sister. Who is growing up and might need some big sister guidance. So I will stop listening to negative comments and voices from others and in my own head. So here is to another year lets make this one a better year. And here is to you Mocha. I love you.

New Years Resolutions and Reflections

I started this blog Janurary first of 2014. And my third post ever was on New Years resolutions. You can find a link to that post here. Let's take a look back on those resolutions and see how I did shall we?

Lead a healthier lifestyle. About half way through the year yes absolutely. I was eating healthier and working out then it started to go down hill. I picked up hooping to stay active but that was as far as I got. I'm still addicted to french fries and hooping like once a week now is all I got. I need to fix that and hoop more!

Paint more. Definite big fat fail. I didn't paint at all. I did however do more creative things. I opened an Etsy shop for heaven sake! So I'm still happy about how much effort I've put it to being craftier and more creative, even if I didn't paint.

Purge Negativity. I feel like this has taken all year for me to actually accomplish. It wasn't until the end of this year were I felt like the really negative people in my life where out of it. And it took a huge career change or lack thereof to really see it wasn't happy with where my life was going.

Last was, Keep up with this blog. For half of the year I did great I wrote a post every Monday and usually a post sometimes two during the week. Then toward the end of the year I stopped writing at all. I'm so disappointed in myself for letting this blog take the back burner. That will change. More on that later though.
Ok whew. That was full of good realizations and disappointments on to this years new News Years Resoltuions.

Continue to do things that make me happy. I've been enjoying being creative with makeup and my etsy and everything else that I want to keep this momentum going. I can do this. It takes dedication but dedication I'm willing to put in. I think once lost my job and realized I didn't have anyone to please I started concentrating on making myself happy. I need to not forget that.

Hoop more. Not just hoop more but be a healthier and fitter me so my hooping improves. It was just a thing I picked up to be active and now it's more than just a thing I picked up its a stress release. When I'm feeling out of inspiration or down or stressed, in my circle everything keeps going and flowing. I love that.

Last but not least keep up with this blog and expand this blog. It's been a year. A year that could have gone better in terms of this blog. I want to keep writing. I started this blog for a reason. A good reason. I want to make more videos, make more in general and write to you more often. Check out my letter to Mocha on tomorrow's post for more on that.

To you, you lovely reader you, make 2015 your best year yet. I'll try to do the same.

Glittery New Years Eve Makeup Ideas

Hey guys how was your Christmas?? Fantastic I hope! Mine was great filled with good laughs and lots of food. The New Year is upon us! First things first what are you wearing? Where are you going? If it's sweatpants a tub of ice cream and your couch I'm kinda jealous. If it's out on the town or a party. Let's talk makeup. New Years Eve is the night you can put potentially too much makeup and be as glamorous as you want. It's a great time to break out those dark colors and my personal fav glitter! There's a bunch of ways you can utilize glitter. Here are a couple looks/ideas I put togther.

First if you want to go from something not too dark and stray from the norm use nice neutral colors and throw the glitter just on your kid. From more drama add a double liner or not, your preference. It's pretty and just a little sassy.

Another option is to do a dark smokey eye and the glitter again to the eye lid. For the best effect really concentrate on the inner corner of the eye.

*the color in my lips in both looks is Sangeria by Miliani

Last, if you follow me on Instagram, you might recongnize this picture. This look is a great Christmas or New Years look. You  choose any glitter color you like and follow along the top of your eyeliner on your eyelid and right along the inner corner of your eye.

I love NYX glitter liners they are probably my favorite and what I used for all of these looks. Have fun experiment with some glitter! And have a wonderful New Years Eve!!

Kylie Jenner Makeup Essentials

Ive seen a lot of instagram makeup peeps and YouTubers trying to recreate the youngest member of the Karashian clans go-to makeup look. She, in my opinions, has had a lot to do with the 90s lip color come back. Everyone is obsessed with it now finding the prefect mauve and brown throw back colors. Supposedly she is using a combination of MAC products to create her pouty lips. But I have a few drugstore products that will give you the same look for less.

First the eyes.
She keeps her eyes relatively simple and matte. A perfect little palette for this is physicians formulas matte quad in Canyon Classics. I love this little pallete! I use it all the time!

Next is that Kardashian staple, bronzer. My favorite high end bronzer is Park Aveune Princess by Tarte but a good dupe for it is Wet and Wild's Ticket to Brazil.

Kylie and all the Kardashian's always have long lashes that are more than likely falsies but a great mascara can do the trick without the falsies. One I recently picked up and loved is Maybellines Lash Sensational mascara. It has a pretty unique brush on it that is great for layering as adding length.

Last but not least Kylie's 90s throwback pouty lips. For this is used NYX lip liner in Mauve and Wet and Wilds matte lipstick in Bare it All. I love this combination! The lip liner is actually really great to use on its own also. It's probably my favorite lip liner that I own.

Now all you need to do is throw on just a little half winged eyeliner, over draw your lips, and dress inappropriately for your age and you have the complete Kylie Jenner look. Ha! I hope this was useful in some way! Rock that pouty lip!

2014 Victoria Secret Fashion Show motd

If you watched the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night you, like me, watch beauitful girls in beautiful lingerie. And if you're anything like me you thought I won't ever look like that but I can finish a pint of Ben and Jerrys ice cream alone. Beat that models enjoy your lettuce! Whahaha!!

But seriously I do love the look Victoria's Secret likes their models to sport. It's a heavy bronzer and highlight with a shimmery golden smokey eye. It's a great look that looks good on everyone. Here are some of the looks.

It's a glowy and radiant look. If you follow me on social media you've seen that I recreated it. On snap chat I broke down what I did to create it. So I decieded to share it with you.

2014 New York Trip

If you follow me on social media you probably already know I have the flu. Ugh. It could be worse. I haven't had the flu since I was a kid and I remember it being much worse or maybe I'm just lucky this time around? The worst part is losing my voice. It started as a sore throat and then achey all over and then it got worse. I went to the doctor expecting to hear strep and I tested postive for the flu. So I have been doing nothing but resting and catching up on Netflix. My medicine makes me feel weird and dizzy so I don't trust myself with a needle or a sewing machine for that matter so the Esty shop is put on hold. It's kind of all a big bummer but I finally put this video together of our trip to New York! Hope you like it!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I feel like this past week has flown by. Or at least it feels like it to me. Over the weekend we went to Science on the Rocks. The science museum in Charlote also known as the Discovery Place, has a 21 and up event. Basically you get to explore the science museum like kids but with alcohol. Sounds like a good time right? Every month they have a different theme. This month was Gears and Beer. Basically a steampunk theme with craft beer. Since our Ren Fest costumes were already steampunk and we are big fans of craft beer we were all for it. I put togther a short vlog, so here's that.

Other than weekend festivities I have been working on making sweaters to sell on Etsy! If you follow me on Instagram you've seen my latest sweater designs. I was unsure about opening an Etsy shop but with a little push from friendly comments and my dad I've decieded to do it. Once it is up and going I will post it here! Here what I've been working on

And here's my moutain of felt. My work area looks like a tornado of felt, fabric, and thread has blown through it.

I'm also teaching my self how to cross stitch and hand embroider. Something I hope to incorporate into my Etsy shop.

I bought these little pink scissors for cross stitching and embroidery. And I'm in love with them, they are so cute and dainty.

Currently I am on an airplane heading to New York. I'm visiting my family for thanksgiving. Yup, I'm writing this post from the air. It's my boyfriend Josephs first time flying and first time going to New York. Don't worry I'm taking pictures and documenting this trip... As I do everything. Haha. I hope you are having a great week and I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving. I hope you enter this holiday season with a grateful heart. Be kind to each other.
